Elephant for the first time in the history of Europe put a contact lens

Veterinarians performed an amazing operation Amsterdam zoo Artis - the oldest zoo in the country, whose collection includes about 900 species of animals. One eye damaged the elephant named Thida Win, they were able to put a contact lens, which would help the animal to return to the comfort and quality of vision. The operation was performed by a veterinarian Anna Maria zoo Verbruggen, which had previously put the lens just horses.
