Veterinarians performed an amazing operation Amsterdam zoo Artis - the oldest zoo in the country, whose collection includes about 900 species of animals. One eye damaged the elephant named Thida Win, they were able to put a contact lens, which would help the animal to return to the comfort and quality of vision. The operation was performed by a veterinarian Anna Maria zoo Verbruggen, which had previously put the lens just horses.

Not so long ago elephant eyes hurt and I could not open it, the lens also helped her cope with the disaster. As Verbruggen said after the operation carried out for the animal, the eye should heal in no time.

For everything the vet has spent only half an hour. To 45-year-old animal is agitated, the process took place under local anesthesia. Thanks to his ailment Win Thida now appears as the first in Europe elephant, which put a contact lens.
